SECOND LIFE RENTING FAQS & RULES

In general, be nice, and use your common sense. Specifically, we would ask you to…

1.- REZZ YOUR PRIMS.
You need join the rentals office group and enable it in your profile.

2. PAYMENTS.
Pay your rent on time. Time is always added to the *end* of the lease, so you lose nothing by paying early, and if you plan to be away from SL, paying ahead will cover your absence.

3. PRIM LIMITS.

Stay within your prim limits. If you rez more than your allowance, one of your neighbours will be unable to rez *their* allowance, so be kind. Keep your things within your walls on in your garden. Some rentals coming with free furniture and, sometimes, you can delete it and rezz yours, but read your renting rules or im the owner before do anything out of rules.

4.-BEHAVIOR.
Please live and let live. Don’t upset your neighbours by running laggy scripts, flying spaceships through their living rooms, or setting off nuclear devices. And don’t be too easily upset either.
If you seriously or repeatedly break these rules, or fall into arrears, you may lose your skybox without refund: so please don’t. In return, it’s only fair we follow a rule too, so we’ll…
Leave you in peace and privacy to enjoy your home.

No harassment, griefing, pushing, or causing any kind of bad behavior to other tenants or the property.

5 .SECURITY

The reclusion and sheer altitude of our skyboxes mean that you will probably never be troubled by strangers in one, and even apartments are seldom visited by anyone except their residents. However, if an unwelcome visitor refuses to leave, you have powers you do not have in public places.
Fiirst.- Right-click the intruder and select “Freeze” to prevent them moving
Second.- Right-click them and select “Eject” to teleport them away
(Those steps are just an example. The security system is not the same in all rentals offices.)
If you eject someone, you will be asked if you wish to ban them. If you do, they will be *permanently* unable to enter Bright Corporation Rentals airspace.
Please note that security gadgets simply don’t work in rentals, as in Second Life gadgets can only eject people if they belong to the land-owner. They are also laggy, annoying, and you really don’t need them.

First aid: report your rental owner the unwelcome visitors.

6. VISITORS AND PARTNERS
You can invite visitors to your home whenever you like: just tp them in :)

However, to keep our rentals private for you, rentals do not allow unaccompanied strangers, or landmarks (as these get handed out), so to share your skybox with a friend, partner, or “alt”, make them a resident too. The system todo it will vay and, even, your rentals poffice perhads dont have security system!.
An example: Just click your rent box and click “Resident 2″. You will hear “Please ask the second resident to say ‘/27650 hello’.” The number will vary: like a PIN number. Ask your partner to say the phrase near the rent box: when it hears ‘/27650 hello’ it will record their name as second resident. They should join, propably, the rentals SL group, allowing them to set home position, rez prims within your allowance, and come and go as you do without paying additional rent.

7.- After your rental period ends, you must RESIGNE IT!

If you dont do it, then you remain as virtual rental owner and you start to receive messages like:

You are now 1 day behind on your rental payments, You are now 2 days behind on your rental payments...etc.

Finally, you will be ejected from the rental. So, after your rental periode ends, click over the Resing link (or similar one).

8.- TV/RADIO

Please wear the group tag when placing furniture or operating audio and visual equipment.

Take care: no all tv services are the same.

9. VISITING HOMES BEFORE RENTING
Please note: no all rentals services allow you to this and the system will vary from a rental service to another
An example:
1. Use one of the landmarks below to teleport to a site offering your chosen style of home (if there are stiles t chose).
2. You will land in one of our lobbies. Click the green button for a list of “homes at this site”.
3. A menu box with a list of homes will appear: click the button for a “VACANT” home.
4. When you “hear” a teleport link: open your chat window and click it.
5. You’ll land outside the vacant home, under the rent box. Go in and have a look around!
